Game Changing Legendaries and Itemization in 1.0.8

Game Changing Legendaries in Diablo 3 1-0-8

With patch 1.0.8 coming soon (date not announced) we will be seeing an overhaul of the itemization system in Diablo 3, which bascially the whole community has been complaining about from the get-go. According to Blizzard, they are now focusing on the “Less is More” model, which sounds not bad at all. I can’t wait for them to remove the ridiculous items that drops in Inferno.

Vaneras also gave us an exciting comment on “game changing legendaries”:

Q: I think Blizzard is getting ready to introduce a lot of new legendaries and generally improve drops.
A: Vaneras: Pretty much this, and I am pretty sure the game will feel quite different to play once you get your hands on one of those game changing legendaries

I’m stoked to get more information on this patch! I want to see on one of these “game changing” legendary items that he’s mentioning, right now!

Not Receiving Purchased Items from the Auction House

Posted by Murdoc - February 27, 2013 0

I have read many posts on the forums where players buys an item on the AH and it does not show up in the complete tab. This is very frustrating and it just happened to me. It’s a well known issue with the auction house and it’s surprising Blizzard haven’t taken care of it yet.

There seems to be three solutions, one of which triggered my purchased item to the complete tab.

  1. Purchase the cheapest item possible, or:
  2. Wait until you sell an item, or:
  3. Cancel one of your auctions.

I tryed the first method, but it didn’t work, however I did get the item I purchased but never the “lost” one. After an hour, I saw that one of my auctions that I had put up just sold, so I checked the complete tab and my lost item was lying there below the gold.

So, if this ever happens to you, try one of the three options instead of whining on the forums or submiting a ticket.

Hardcore is Diablo 3

Posted by Murdoc - February 26, 2013 0

Diablo 3 has been out for a while now and the enjoyment have been average with ups and downs. But this week I tryed something completely new: HARDCORE. I never understood why people played hardcore and risk the amount of hours and effort it takes to build a character, but I really do now! The thrills and chills that comes with it is pure entertainment. Battles are WAY more alive, tactical and creepy… Because you don’t know when you’re gonna get trapped, frozen, or stunned and a second later get jacked.

My heart is literally pounding when my Barbarian gets stuck in a sticky situation! I feel alive when I play Diablo 3 this way, and it might sound nerdy as *#!& and it might also sound like I don’t have a life (I really don’t), but I think i’m never going to play softcore ever again. It’s just not worth it, it’s just not fun when you can’t take risks. And that’s what you do everytime you step out of town, you put your character in jeopardy when you take him out for a cruise.

There have been several close calls (below 5% hp) but I have always managed to save Leap to get out of bad situations.

That’s Garduc the Barbarian, currently level 52, and he has a lot more balls than your 200k dps softcore characters. I have been playing on Monster Power 10 from the get-go and I LOVE the challenge! Every little upgrade you find or craft (which is now very rewarding and helpful) increases your chances of surviving. The auction house is a lot more player driven too. People actually buy low level stuff all the time. Here’s a screenshot of my AH log. As you can see, almost everything I put up gets sold. You have to be clever with the price and what kind of item you’re putting up though, as survival gear is number one priority.

If you want to hook up or get a helping hand, I can be found on the EU server. Send me a message and we’ll chat! Diablo 3 should be played in hardcore mode. You have to try it out, trust me!

To end this post, here’s an awesome Hardcore Death Compilation & Close Calls video! Priceless reactions!

What Happened to This? Diablo 3 Back in 2009

Posted by Murdoc - February 9, 2013 1

So I was looking at some Diablo 3 screenshots released back in 2009 and it left me wondering, what the hell happened? I remember when Diablo 3 was officially announced and I could not believe my eyes. As time flew by, images as seen below were published showcasing the interface, skill tree and some armor and weaponry icons. My mind got blown away after throwing a glimpse at this, it really looked like we were getting an upgraded version of D2.

I don’t want to be negative against the current state of Diablo 3 (i’m sure it will be improved over time), but I did expect D3 to be an upgraded version of Diablo 2. Instead, the developers, I guess, were asked to be innoative and creative in order to change the core basics of the game, which was already great in Diablo 2. I just had to post this screenshot because it is simply amazing! I really wonder how Diablo 3 could have turned out if they decided to stick with the skill tree system and allowing stats to be distributed by the player, and kept the level cap to 99, and runes and runewords, and charms. Oh my… Descions, decisions

Diablo 3 Dueling in PTR

Posted by Murdoc - January 16, 2013 0

Patch 1.0.7 is up on the PTR and a few PvP dueling videos have popped up on YouTube. The best footage i’ve seen so far is from GreenThumbGaming as he plays his Barbarian against all classes while doing some commentary. It looks fun, but Demon Hunters looks like a pain in the ass to duel.

Diablo 3 Patch 1.0.7 Preview: PVP IS HERE!

Posted by Murdoc - January 12, 2013 0

A preview of the new patch 1.0.7 is up on the official site which gives us a sneak peek at what to expect. I’m excited because DUELING will finally make its appearance to the game. Here’s a quote from the post:

Speaking with Nek will take you and your party to the Scorched Chapel, a new zone designed specifically for player combat. This zone has custom geometry and features four different areas: the church, the graveyard, the river, and the lake

New Gem: Marquise

There’s no information what exactly the Marquise gem does, just:

We’re also adding a new tier of gems for those who really want to push their character farther. The new tier is called “Marquise” and most of its stats are in line with the current gem progression.

However, they are saying that the red gem, the Ruby, will now increase attack speed instead of that lame +weapon damage. That will make things way more interesting, since the Emerald is a obvious choice right now.

They will also be adding new crafting recipes, and increase the bonus experience when you turn up Monster Power in your game. I’m not very detailed, so I suggest that you go read the post yourself. Overall, the new patch is looking very promising, and I can’t wait to try out the dueling system!
